This last weekend, Washington, DC was rocked by a MEGA storm that lasted about 45 mins but left about 2 weeks worth of repair. I’ve never seen anything like it before. My guess is that mother nature must have a taken a few of these Magnetic Man vitamins. Unfortunately, because of the storm I have been without internet and power until late last night, meaning I missed out on Entourage and of course this Essential Mix by Magnetic Man, comprised of three Croydon amigos named Benga, Skream, & Artwork. For those of you who are just finding out:
Magnetic Man is a dubstep super vacay group consisting of dubstep producers and DJs Skream, Benga and Artwork. They perform using three Apple Macbook Pro computers, one playing drum samples and loops, one playing basslines and the third playing lead sounds and samples. Artwork controls the master laptop, using Ableton Live, to which the other two are synchronised via midi. Their sets usually consist of a mix of original tracks produced together, and live remixes of Benga and Skream’s tracks, accompanied by synchronised projected visuals by Novak Collective. Their first single has been getting mixed reviews, but I am a huge believer in Benga’s production potential. I love what he has brought to the tracks I’ve heard thus far and can’t wait to hear the rest. The album is due to release on October 4th (Pre-order here). To hold you over until then, I’ve got my hands on their I Need Air EP and the tracklist for the album.

thanks for trying to put together a tracklist for this! no idea why there isn’t one over at bbc land. and, yeah … that storm was weird … blew the grill right off my neighbors porch.
Also, #29 Should be Mz. Bratt (not Mr.). And I think theres another track between #18 & #19 (about 45 min. into the mix), if you can ID it, you would make me very happy (its stuck in my head!)
Track 10 is a skream track (heard him play it on one of is rinse.fm podcasts), not sure if it has a name though
