I’m following up the previous Vacay Vitamin D1 (Disco) with a slightly higher dosage of Vitamin D140 (Dubstep). This Vitamin has an entirely opposite effect on the body as opposed to Vitamin D1. Side effects include vomiting, diarrhea, severe mood swings, man slaughter, and turning into the incredible HULK. In volume one I’m going to be featuring the likes of Borgore, Bare Noize, DatsiK, Excision, and Zeds Dead.

Vitamin D140: Ingredient #1: Borgore

If you haven’t heard of Borgore then you don’t listen to dubstep.

Straight from Tel Aviv, Isreal, this classically trained former-metal-rocker-turned-dubstepper has been making huge waves in the UK and US scenes. Never at a loss for words, Borgore describes his music as “commercial American hip-hop and death metal being played through various farm animals.”

His songs are laden with 8-bit samples reminiscent of modern hip-hop, with crunchy bass-lines many times formed from sampled vocals and sport some dope-ass verses that any misogynistic rapper would be proud of.

If you’re lacking in your filthy vitamins lately, Borgore is absolutely the cure. Take all 5 and call me in the morning…just don’t yell at me when your neighbors complain.

Vitamin D140: Ingredient #2: Bare Noize

I stumbled across a nasty renditions of Proxy’s Dancing In The Dark a very long time ago and it quickly became one of my favorite chunes. However, I didn’t know who to thank as it just said Dubstep Refix. I posted the chune and one rad amigo pointed out that it was a Bare Noize Remix. Not long after I found a production duo who continually blows my mind. Ollie Pile and Daniel Brown are the electronic calamity that is Bare Noize, a project focusing on evolving dubstep and pushing the genre beyond its usual barriers. They have quickly climbed my charts and have joined Nero as my favorite producers. These vitamins will quench your dubstep thirst and put you on a great one 64% of the time, all the time.
