Jees, this posts gonna make you as happy as a kid in a candyshop. I have got some insanely good new stuff for y’all. Take it away!
It’s an assortment of everything I couldn’t find a home for in past posts but I want to share. So I’ve put it all together, in a kind of miscellaneous superpost!
First up for you I’ve got an excellent remix of Annie‘s new track Song Reminds Me Of You, coming from The Swiss & Donnie Sloane. It’s six minutes of piano-laced electoesque madness. Whatever, it’s amazing.
La Zebra kindly sent over When In Rome, it’s a great house track, with a funky edge. It does actually remind me of Rome for some reason. As usual, my description fails to do justice, so check it out below.
Another song I got sent over comes from H.U.N.X. All about doing some dance, The Loco-Motion sounds like that 80′s number one your parents dance badly too at parties. You’ll either love it or hate it. I love it.
A little while back a new track from Klaxons leaked. It was alright but nothing special, but Echoes sees them back to their best, its the return of the Klaxons I know and love.
I dunno where this came from, I gotta say, but I was doing a bit of MySpace-based procrastinating, and I came across an act called TrebleRebels, possibly the worst band name ever. Nonetheless, their track Sticky Song, featuring J-Neal is still pretty dope, I gotta hand it to them. Here it is.
It’s now time for some electro, with Wolfgang Gartner‘s version of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, recalling Justice. Check it out below, and read on for further electro madness.
Now as a New Yorker I was unsure about posting this track I have to say. A song from a band called We Are Terrorists called Ground Zero does seem pretty distasteful, and I had serious reservations. But overall music has to come first, so here it is.
Like the last track, Danger‘s remix of Estelle‘s megahit American Boy is banging French Electro. It’s old but still worth a play (or three).
Also from Danger is this remix of Midnight Juggernauts. I think it needs to be blasted out to be really appreciated. The words, I have to say, are kinda lame but the track is still good, so here it is.
Now this isn’t really new, but it’s still sick, and in my head it goes with the last track (I have no idea why). Anyhow, it’s Baptism by Crystal Castles. I needn’t say anymore.
Stereogum’s always a great place to find new music, and they just dropped a summer mixtape, which you can and should cop for free here. On it, was Dom’s track Living In America, which I really like. I can’t believe I hadn’t come across this before.
I always appreciate a good Ellie Goulding remix, and this effort from BeatsnPieces is my personal favorite version of Wish I Stayed. Props to him for sending an mp3 over.
