So in the past week I’ve graduated from college, broken up with a girlfriend, and driven from St. Louis to Palm Beach, Florida. I’m tired and I’m cranky. That said, I owe you guys a good mailbag, so here goes nothin’.
Vitamin #1:
I’ll start off with the only artist that has earned multiple tracks in this week’s mailbag. H.Y.D.E. is based out of France and is still relatively unknown. If VacayNation has anything to say about it, this will be a temporary issue for H.Y.D.E. because his whole rap sheet is pretty dope, from originals to remixes.

Vitamin #2:
A sick club bangin’ remix from Tom Staar. It’s a pretty hefty dose of Vitamin C(rookers) that’s worth a listen.
Vitamin #3:
I’ve heard a zillion remixes of “Over” and this is the first one I like. That said, for the love of god people, stop remixing this song.
Vitamin #4:
Oxford’s Foals (not The Foals, just Foals) have a very familiar English rock sound, but FiSK gave it a good ol’ electronic once over that makes it a really sick track. Once again, a prime example of taking music that is generic sounding and feeding it synthesteroids until it’s Vacay-worthy.
Vitamin #5:
I know, I know; a second Drake remix in one mailbag. Had you told me that would ever happen before I received this weeks submissions, I would have laughed in your face. I hate Drake remixes because there are thousands out there and only .00001% are worth listening to. But, lo and behold, this one is just too sick to pass up.
Vitamin #6:
During my arduous car ride from Atlanta to Palm Beach I listened to Dooze Jackers’ mixtape “We’re Not High, We’re Only Bangers!” and I thought to myself, “I should listen to more Dooze Jackers.” On cue, when I opened up my e-mail, this was waiting for me.
Vitamin #7:
This next tune is a catchy bit from a newer collaboration project between Gabriel Q. Pelaez (Q) and Leo DeadBeat called Rich Kid Sound System. There’s a breakdown that starts around 3:33 that made me feel special inside.
Well that’s all I got. Overall I think this was probably my favorite mailbag thus far. Some good variety in genre, sound, and popularity, but all solid tracks. Thanks for the submissions VacayNation, keep ‘em coming.

Yea… recycling beats is a form of flattery. Sub Focus is one of the best drum n bass producers of all time.

I’m sorry (sort of) to say that the midwest is part of my past. I’m in South Florida for goodsies nowadays. Have fun in ChiTown, though. You should visit your friend in the Lou and hit up a good show at the Pageant. Its a tight venue. I saw Bassnectar there and I’d say it was the best show I’ve ever seen…
haha if UMF was an accurate representation of life in south florida i would say you are definitely in the right place. Yeah I remember hearing about the Pageant during a tour; I’ll be sure to advise him accordingly, especially if your crazy ass is claiming to have seen the best show of your life there.
haha I applied there but didn’t get in, although I’ll be joining you in the midwest at Northwestern, and my best friend will be coming to WashU! but it was simple to determine, really– smart people go to WashU and smart people love house music.
