If you know me, then you know I love French house music. For some reason, it gets me to dance no matter what day or time it is. And for that, I will always love you French house music.
This past weekend I DJed a party at my ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend’s house for my ex-girlfriend’s brother (couldn’t make that up). The party started around 10:00 and of course I showed up late around 11:45. By the time I got there the patrons were restless and ready to get down and dirt nasty. Earlier in the week I had heard the DatA remix of “Let’s All Chant” and decided it would be a great tune to open up with. I couldn’t have been more right.
I turned the speakers up to as loud as they could go and of course got a few puzzled and weird looks for the first 20 seconds or so. After the first drop though, people were jumping off the walls and dancing like they were possessed by breakdancing ghosts on PCP.
Thank you DatA for giving me the power to make people dance (and not make things super awkward). Below are some of my favorites. Take a listen.
Tracks
- Michael Zager Band - Let's All Chant (DatA Remix)
- DatA - One In a Million
- La Roux - I'm Not Your Toy (DatA Remix)
