Kanye’s (un)lovably oversized ego captures the essence of ‘Gifted’ perfectly, and Steve Aoki exploits the hell out of it, looping the most audacious lyrics to the point where you start to believe it within yourself. “I am a king and will not beheaded” – Aoki pulsates the line into your system, and the song bleeds egomania. You’re headed where you please. Lykke Li tries to quell it, but ultimately when the song’s playing, (to pull another line from Kanye) nobody’s gonna tell you nothin’.
