Now, as you may remember, not all that long ago I did a post rounding up the best tracks I’d come across when trawling through Soundcloud. Well, I’m back with an update, and this time I’ve found even more excellent new stuff, as the picture shows, we won’t stop at anything to bring you the best music!
Also, all you producers out there, if you’d like to be featured in future, hit me up on my Soundcloud here, and I’ll start following.
First up is everyone’s favorite Madagascan remixer, Epyk. He’s done a sweet remake of Two Door Cinema Club‘s best track, What You Know. Epyk has remixed the indie anthem into an 80′s-esque disco dancefloor killer.
Keeping with the 80′s sound is No Survivor, the latest track from Glasnost. I first came across these guys when they did an excellent remix of Matt & Kim. I’ve been following them (only on Soundcloud, not in real life!) ever since. This is a nice track, could Glasnost be the new Chromeo?
This track, technically, shouldn’t really be here. I came across it on Myspace. But I decided to put aside the music discovering method beef and feature it, because it’s a sick song. Normally I’m not big on R’n'B but I do think this is a good song anyway. It’s Pretty Brown Eyes by Concept & Hectic, two young mcs from the UK.
Another genre I can’t say I’m at all fond of is emo/metal, so I gotta say I was pretty sceptical about Alexis K‘s idea of a dubstep remix of Linkin Park. However I decided to give it a play and I was pretty impressed. She is also the first female dubstepper I know of. Here it is.
Sticking with Dubstep is The Good Stuff remix of John Roman‘s track Martyr. It’s an expertly done remix, which is subtle and very atmospheric – dubstep at it’s best.
The final artist I’d like to bring to your attention is B.A.R.T.O., an excellent mashup producer. I’ve picked his two best tracks, a remix of Wiley & Diana Ross and also a Beenie Man/Hervé combination. Both are great mashups, if I’d come across them earlier I might have even concluded them within the best mashups of the year post I did. There are further excellent tracks on his page.
I hope this post has helped you to find some good new artists, and that these artists excite you as much as they do me. Keep your eyes peeled for future discoveries!
