Vitamin D1 (Disco) Vol. 1 (Treasure Fingers) Part I

I’ve put together a nice little Vacay Vitamin playlist for those hot summer nights when things start to get really sweaty and funky. Pop this vitamin in and just add some tequila, vacay will take care of the rest. As you can see this vitamin is primarily made up of Treasure Fingers, Lifelike, Kris Menace, and Fred Falke. Four artist that are responsible for my disco baptism.

Vitamin D1 Ingredient #1: Treasure Fingers

I discovered Treasure Fingers about a year ago and I’ve been on a disco, nu disco, new new wave, whatever you wanna call it rampage ever since. If you’ve never heard of Treasure Fingers and you like disco, then today will be a day you will always remember. I’m gonna let him introduce himself with this 5 minute 14 track Mini Mix he made for Annie Mac (yea thats on avg. 20 secs a song, pretty fucking amazing).

Tracklist

Treasure Fingers, aka Ashley Jones, has a wide spectrum of musical production talent. Before Treasure Fingers, he got involved in a drum n bass experiment under the moniker Evol Intent, which he still continues. After the success of Evol Intent he returned back to his house roots and launched Treasure Fingers, which blew up after his hit Cross the Dancefloor. Given such a polar interests in sounds, its quiet interesting how he finally decided on nu disco:

I was really into the 90′s chicago house sound and then the french house sound in the late 90s. That’s the sound i started djing, along with drum & bass under a different name. Someone ended up stealing all my house records. I was just too poor and lazy to go back and buy all the house records to keep djing that back then so I just stuck with drum & bass. that ended up turning into the evol intent project. I was doing this really lo-fi tour with some dudes in a van. We were just traveling around the country and meeting up with whatever connections or friends we could and playing wherever we could. We had our own soundsystem so a lot of times we would end up playing in a basement or park or something. One dude with us was just a scam artist I guess. He ran off with my records and also took some money from some of the others. No one has heard from him to this day. I kind of look at it as a blessing in disguise because I started focusing heavily on drum & bass at that point and that turned somewhat successful, which in return helped me launch the treasure fingers project when I was ready.

I’ve rounded up some of my all-time favorite treasure fingers vitamins along with some new tracks.
