Sunshine – Picture Book (House – UK?)

The most confusing genre out there has to be Romantic Rager, or the RomRag. It’ll certainly get you jumping, sweating, dancing, drinking and fucking, but falling in love?  Maybe an ecstasy-laced between-the-sheets sort of love, though I’m skeptical about the kind where you become the “sunlight when I am frozen.”  I just don’t see someone tossing a pebble at their girlfriend’s window to spin them a set of their favorite sentimental jams that were bumping when they first met at the club.

In my latest and favorite RomRag, Picture Book’s ‘Sunshine,’ where I doubt club-based love can last, they admittedly do too. “I know that we will change/everything won’t stay the same/but these days are here now/remember.”  While an acoustic love song associates itself with undying, immovable, irreplaceable love, the love of a RomRag is undeniably in the spirit of Vacay; momentary perfection in a fog of fleeting goodness.  It’s an honorable, if hedonistic, appreciation for the present with no fear of an uncertain future.
