Brooklyn resident, DJ, and dance music producer Cody Murray has been keeping very busy ever since he debuted his latest project, “Codes“, last December. His feet hit the ground running and he has had no problem keeping up the pace.
Producing kick drum heavy tunes with funked out basslines, Codes is undeniably one of the hottest new House Music artists making noise today. He immediately caught the attention of Slow Roast Records label owners Craze & Kill The Noise and his “Codes House EP” was quickly picked up and released in April 2011. Major hype soon followed as tracks off the EP found their way into DJ sets and mix tapes all around the world. So it was no surprise when “What you Gonna Do”, the feature track, dominated the #1 spot for a month on Wasabeat, the Japanese version of Beatport, and charted all over Beatport and Tracksource.
These days Codes can’t catch a minute to himself. Recently he’s been in the lab and behind the wheels working on various collaborations. These projects include new material with ‘Disco King’ Treasure Fingers, the recently released Codes and Tommie Sunshine remix of “Killer” for The Disco Fries and Clinton Sparks, and original productions and a Moombahton remix project with Slow Roast co-owner Craze.
Codes is also in demand behind the decks. He recently opened for David Guetta at NY’s mega popular Pacha. When he’s not spinning in his hometown, he can be found all over North America, playing shows in Winnipeg (Big Dancing), Edmonton (Buffalo Underground), Minneaoplis (Recess at Varsity Theater), to name a few. He also played at Craze’s exclusive Dance Alone Video Premiere party at Grand Central in downtown Miami. His recent signing with artist management/booking agency, AM Only, has Codes’ DJ calendar filling up quite fast.
With several remixes lined up for release, including Acid Jacks‘ smash “Yoko Mono” (ONE LOVE/Australia), Dances With White Girls’ “Bout The House” (Plant Music), and Craze’s “Dance Alone” (Slow Roast), Codes has shown his ability to flip anything thing he gets his hands on. Check out the remix he did for Kill The Noise’s “Perfect Combination” on his mix for Treasure Fingers’ podcast here. With mixtape support from Diplo and Tittsworth, Codes consistent quality production is paving a bright future for this new dancefloor guru.
Take one listen to any of his many mixes and you will understand why Codes is blowing it up this year.

Code’s Prescription

Craze – Dance Alone Ft. Wrekonize (Radio Edit)
New super funky house record produced by 3 time DMC champ DJ Craze with ¡Mayday! front man Wreckonize on the VOX. This is going to be the tune of 2011.
Great 110 bpm track with ATL’s Mighty High Coup. Bro Safari is making hands down some of the best moombahton right now!
Kill The Noise – My World (Torro Torro Remix)
Undeniably one of the hardest remixes I play. Torro Torro have been making some of my favorite tunes right now.
High energy House Music with mad hip hop flavor. I have been loving what Firebeatz has been doing!
Codes – What You Gonna Do (Neoteric & Waxmotif Remix)
These 2 guys have been killing it with their deeper house records. Here’s a sneak peak at their own spin on my “What You Gonna Do” record.
